Team Member Expectations
We do not tolerate bullying, rudeness, or disrespect of any kind toward fellow teammates, families, or staff. We look at how dancers speak to each other and expect politeness at all times.
All dance team members (if accepted) are required to take ballet & jazz (senior team is required to take a technique class as well). If your dancer is too young for jazz, they must take tap. It is expected that team members attend classes regularly.

Audition Attire
- All dancers should wear a black leotard and tights
- No long sleeves or baggy clothing
- Dancers should wear the appropriate shoes (jazz or ballet)
- Dancers must have hair slicked back and out of their face in either a secure ponytail or bun (no fly-away hairs in their face)

Time Committment
There are many fundraisers and team events throughout the year to raise money in addition to encouraging the team to form a tight-knit community. We compete 5-7 times per season and all competitions are mandatory unless otherwise stated.
We encourage our students to take on other opportunities in the dance world. We have dancers who have apprenticed for professional level companies, participated in national talent expositions, have signed with talent agencies, and performed in local high school musicals. For some of our students, dance team was the start of their future careers!

Audition Process
-
Auditions are held in June for the upcoming dance year (Sept-June). All interested dancers must go through the same audition process each summer.
-
In addition to ability, each dancer’s cooperation, effort, attitude, and attendance will be considered.
-
Auditions will typically entail a mandatory workshop where they will be taught a brief combination choreographed by the coaches.
-
At the workshop and audition, dancers will be asked to warm up, demonstrate flexibility, turns, leaps, and jumps.
-
Placement onto specific teams is at the sole discretion of the coaches. Not everyone that auditions is guaranteed a spot on the dance team. Students will receive an email confirming their team status.
